Souper Bowl of Caring – Today is the big day!
Will you be cheering for Brady and the Patriots? or for Eli and the Giants?
But before the game begins you have the opportunity to help those in our community
who are hungry today. As you leave worship today be sure to stop by the soup pots
and leave your donation for the Souper Bowl of Caring. The Souper Bowl is a
national youth effort around the time of the Super Bowl football game that works to
help those who do not have enough food. All food and monetary donations collected
at our church will be given to the Dorothy Day Food Pantry here in Moorhead.
Thank you for helping your neighbors!
Flowers for the Sanctuary You're invited to give flowers to brighten our worship. Choose a date to honor someone special, and sign up on the flower chart in the narthex or call the church office. For information or questions, call Mary Skalet (236-5559), Marion DeJong (233-3041), Ruth Mathews (233-4469) or Elizabeth Swee (236-9346). Thank you!
Dorothy Day Food Pantry Please consider serving the 4th Monday of each month with your church congregation. It is great fellowship and helps out the pantry in a very important mission. We cannot do it without you! If you have any questions, please contact Marilynn Woods at 236-9917.
Prospective Members and Renewing Members! An opportunity will be offered in February for any person who is interested in being an active member of this Presbyterian Church to become acquainted with the basic tenets of our faith. Times being considered are Wednesday or Sunday evening. If you would like to be a part of this group, please share with Pastor John Anderson or Elder Diane Wray-Williams what times would work best for you. Looking forward to some good discussion.
Cherry Pie Supper is Coming Up!
Please mark your calendar for the last weekend of February! On Friday, February
24th, we will prepare for Cherry Pie Supper all day. Then the supper will be served
from 4 until 8 pm on Saturday, February 25th! Tickets and sign-up sheets are
available today so please take your share of tickets and sign up to help. We encourage everyone to participate in this, our largest fundraiser of the year!
Midweek
Please join us at 6:30 pm on February 8th. The menu will be potluck. Please bring a
main dish, salad, side dish or dessert to share. There is no charge!
Youth Group (grade 4-7) Due to possible family plans and activities on Super Bowl Sunday we will NOT have
youth group today. The younger youth group will meet on February 12th at 4 - 5:30
pm. Activities that day will include several simple service projects as well as time for
games and snacks. Bring a friend! We will still have our Game Night on February
19th at 4-5:30 pm.
Older Youth - grades 8-12
Take a break from the stress of school and homework and join us on Wednesday,
February 8th for Game Night from 7 - 8:30 pm. Bring your favorite game, relax and
enjoy some friendly competition.
Our mission is to be a caring community of God's people who live by Christ's teaching, reach out to others to share the love of God, and celebrate the good news of Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, thought, and action.
